Foxtail Ridge stands as one of the most important residential development projects in the history of Colborne and a milestone achievement for Fidelity Homes.
Breaking ground on October 4, 2018, Foxtail Ridge marked the beginning of a major new chapter for both the community and Fidelity Homes. At the time of its launch, the project represented the largest new subdivision in the history of Colborne and a significant long-term investment in the future growth of the community.
With a total investment of more than $150 million, Foxtail Ridge helped bring new housing opportunities, new families, and renewed momentum to Colborne. The development consisted of 95 residential units, including single detached bungalows, single detached two-storey homes, and townhome units, offering a diverse mix of housing options for homeowners at different stages of life.
The impact of Foxtail Ridge extended far beyond the boundaries of the subdivision itself. Once completed, the development represented a nearly 30% net increase in the volume of homes within the built-up area of Colborne, making it a truly transformational project for the village and surrounding community.
For Fidelity Homes, Foxtail Ridge was also a defining moment. As the first major development project for Fidelity Homes, it helped establish the company as a new home builder, custom home builder, and land development company within the Fidelity Group family of companies. The project demonstrated Fidelity’s commitment to thoughtful community growth, quality construction, and long-term investment in Eastern Ontario.
Phase 1 of the Foxtail Ridge community was completed in June 2024, marking the successful conclusion of a major development effort that began more than five years earlier. Today, the completed neighbourhood stands as a lasting example of Fidelity Homes’ ability to plan, build, and deliver meaningful residential communities.
Looking ahead, the Foxtail South development is now in the final stages of preparation to initiate Phase 2 of the broader development project. This next stage will continue the vision first established through Foxtail Ridge and build on the foundation of growth, investment, and community-building that has already helped shape Colborne’s future.
