Fidelity Group Launches Fidelity Utilities Inc. to Support Ontario’s Growing Infrastructure Needs

COLBORNE, ON — October 2nd, 2026 — The Fidelity Group is pleased to announce the launch of Fidelity Utilities Inc., a standalone company within the Fidelity Group established to support electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure projects, grid modernization and emergency response across Ontario and beyond.

Fidelity Utilities brings together skilled utility professionals, experienced project leadership and a growing fleet of specialized equipment to support utility owners, contractors and industry partners in the construction, maintenance and modernization of critical electrical infrastructure.

The company’s focus includes electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure, pole replacement and line construction, grid and broadband modernization, and storm and wildfire emergency response.

The launch represents a significant expansion of the Fidelity Group’s infrastructure capabilities and establishes Fidelity Utilities as a dedicated platform built to serve the evolving needs of Ontario’s electrical grid and critical infrastructure.

Safety at the Core
Safety is fundamental to the Fidelity Utilities operating model. The company is building its teams, systems and processes around a safety-first culture focused on protecting employees, partners, customers and the communities where work is performed.

Fidelity Utilities is a signatory contractor with the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW), providing access to a skilled and experienced workforce aligned with the specialized requirements of the utility sector.

Supporting Grid and Broadband Modernization
In addition to traditional electrical utility infrastructure, Fidelity Utilities will support the continued expansion of Ontario’s broadband network through pole replacement, pole-line upgrades and related infrastructure programs.

These programs play an important role in preparing existing utility corridors for expanded telecommunications infrastructure while simultaneously renewing and modernizing the electrical distribution network that communities rely on.

The launch of Fidelity Utilities comes at a time of significant investment in Ontario’s electrical and telecommunications infrastructure, creating increased demand for qualified contractors, skilled tradespeople and specialized utility equipment.

Storm, Wildfire and Emergency Response
Fidelity Utilities will support utilities and industry partners during major storms, wildfires, power restoration events and other emergencies affecting critical infrastructure.

The company’s combination of skilled utility personnel, specialized equipment and broader Fidelity Group resources provides the mobility and field capability required to respond when electrical infrastructure is damaged and rapid restoration is critical.

These emergency response capabilities complement Fidelity Utilities’ transmission and distribution operations and its broader mandate to support the reliability, resilience and modernization of critical infrastructure.

Indigenous Partnerships
Fidelity Utilities will build on the Fidelity Group’s established relationships with Indigenous businesses, communities and project partners as it expands its presence within Ontario’s utility and critical infrastructure sectors.

The company looks forward to creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous participation through collaborative partnerships, procurement, local employment and shared economic opportunities — with a focus on building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships across utility and infrastructure projects.

Built for Partnership
Fidelity Utilities recognizes that major infrastructure programs are delivered through collaboration. The company is committed to working alongside utility owners, engineering firms, contractors, municipalities, telecommunications providers, Indigenous partners and other industry stakeholders to provide dependable field execution and coordinated project delivery. As part of the Fidelity Group, Fidelity Utilities also benefits from established civil construction capabilities, equipment resources and more than a decade of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects throughout Ontario.

“The launch of Fidelity Utilities represents a major expansion of the Fidelity Group’s infrastructure capabilities,” said Jim Pillsworth, President. “We’re building this company around experienced people, specialized equipment, safety and strong industry partnerships, with a focus on transmission, distribution and emergency response.“

“Ontario is entering a period of significant investment in its electrical grid and critical infrastructure. We see an opportunity to build a highly capable, highly mobile utility contractor that can support our partners on major infrastructure programs and respond when storms, wildfires and other emergencies demand skilled crews and specialized equipment at a moment’s notice. Fidelity Utilities is being built for both.“
