Job Title: Residential Siteworks & Landscape Foreman/Operator
Location: Northumberland County

Position Description:

Our high-growth business is seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman/Operator to join the Fidelity Engineering and Construction Inc. team. As a working Landscape Foreman/Operator, you’ll be primarily responsible for taking all new residential homes from rough grading stage to full completion, which includes precise final grading in both the rural setting and urban subdivision environments.  This role is a working foreman role, and the expectation is to both lead the team and operate equipment and participate in daily work activities as a contributing member. This position will play a key role in the organization’s ability to efficiently meet project deadlines and contribute to the organization’s total customer satisfaction effort.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Supervise a crew of 1 to 3 team members.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of excavation jobs; residential grading, planting, from rough grading to sod.
  • Material Management: supervise and coordinate the delivery of materials needed for projects, and the logistical requirements to support (i.e. Coordinate trucking, etc).
  • Communicate effectively with clients in a positive manner.
  • Operate and ensure proper maintenance of excavation equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients in a positive manner.
  • Read Site Grading & Landscape plans and complete as designed.
  • Maintain a safe and cooperative work site for all team members.
  • Comply with company and equipment safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Support all team members as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in landscaping and residential siteworks is a must. 
  • Successfully managing work crews of 1 to 3 team members.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with crew members and clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in Residential Landscaping and Finish Grading.
  • The ability to read site plans, blueprints and set grade points.
  • The ability to confidently operate various pieces of excavation equipment including 5-8 Ton Excavators and Skidsteer with attachments.
  • Experience floating equipment, and/or a D license would be an asset.
  • Experience with Residential Septic Systems & Installations would be an asset.
  • Experience with GPS and Survey Equipment would be considered an asset.
  • A strong desire to continue to learn and advance in the company.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding, requiring but not limited to: bending, kneeling, lifting and climbing.
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, dust, noise and cold.
