Key areas of expansion are focused on Road Construction, Bridge Rehabilitation and Reconstruction programs across the Thunder Bay, Rainy River & Kenora districts.

Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers for earthworks, grading, trenching, and material handling
- Grade and shape surfaces in accordance with site plans, elevations, and project specifications
- Ensure accuracy of excavation depths, slopes, and final grades using stakes, lasers, and grade control systems
- Perform trenching and excavation for underground services while maintaining proper line and grade
- Safely load trucks and move materials around site in both open and confined work areas
- Manage excavated materials efficiently, including stockpiling and backfilling operations
- Maintain safe access routes and work zones around operating equipment
- Work in coordination with grade crews, pipe layers, and site supervision to achieve production and quality targets
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, including fluid levels, wear checks, and reporting deficiencies
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment, trucks, and attachments
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite at all times
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Support crew members as required and contribute to a team-oriented environment
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in heavy civil or infrastructure construction
- Proven experience with excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers (GPS/machine control experience is an asset)
- Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and earthworks operations
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, elevations, and grade stakes
- Experience working around underground utilities and trenching operations
- Strong awareness of job site safety practices and equipment operation protocols
- Ability to work in tight or confined spaces with precision and control
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment and heavy equipment
- Ability to travel to project sites as required. G-Class driver’s license (preferred)
- Able to work long days, flexible work hours and weekends
