Key areas of expansion are focused on Road Construction, Bridge Rehabilitation and Reconstruction programs across the Thunder Bay, Rainy River & Kenora districts.
Position Overview

Responsibilities
- Build, set, align, and strip formwork for structural concrete components including bridge decks, piers, abutments, wing walls, and retaining walls
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout information to ensure accurate form placement
- Perform layout and grade verification, including elevations and dimensions
- Install and secure formwork systems, bracing, and falsework to meet engineering and safety requirements
- Coordinate with survey, engineering, and supervision teams to ensure proper alignment and tolerances
- Assist with and support reinforcing steel placement as required
- Work closely with concrete crews during placing, vibrating, and finishing operations
- Inspect formwork prior to concrete pours to ensure quality and compliance
- Safely operate tools and equipment including levels, lasers, power tools, and small equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Mentor and support labourers and junior crew members as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in heavy civil or structural concrete construction, with direct formsetting experience
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems (wood and/or engineered systems) and falsework practices
- Proven ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of layout, elevations, and grade control
- Experience working on bridge or large infrastructure projects is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working at heights and using fall protection systems
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and layout equipment (levels, lasers, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment and heavy equipment
- Ability to travel to project sites as required. G-Class driver’s license (preferred)
- Able to work long days, flexible work hours and weekends
