Job Title: AZ/DZ Driver

Location: Various Project Sites in Ontario

Position Description:

Our high-growth business is seeking 2 experienced AZ or DZ Drivers to join the Fidelity Engineering and Construction Inc. team. Fidelity Engineering & Construction’s core business is general contracting in the heavy civil construction industry. The company specializes in the following types of projects: Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation, Highway Construction, Culvert Replacement and Rehabilitation, Earthwork including Excavation and Site Development, Retaining Walls & Erosion Control, Environmental Habitat Reconstruction and Demolition and Decommissioning.

This position will play a key role in the organization’s ability to efficiently meet project deadlines and contribute to the organization’s total customer satisfaction effort.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Complete driver’s log as per MTO regulations along with pre-trip inspections.
  • Adhere to all preferred work methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for floating various types of material and construction equipment, including but not limited to: pavers, curb machines, graders and excavators.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading heavy equipment and ensuring that any load has adequate chains, binders and blocking prior to transport.
  • General maintenance and visual inspection of all equipment, trucks and trailers.
  • Comply with company and equipment safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Support all team members as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • AZ or DZ License is required.
  • Clean CVOR and Driver Abstract.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Industry experience will be preferred.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Able to work long days, flexible work hours and weekends.
  • Must have reliable access to a smart phone throughout the workday for contact and inspection or reporting completion, if required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding, requiring but not limited to: bending, kneeling, lifting and climbing.
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, dust, noise and cold.
